FEDERAL LABOR COURT

The Erfurt Tribunal is conceived as a addition of places with its own architectural identity. The expression of the character of the building relies on the figure of the basilica, of the ancient Roman Justice palace. An apsidal hall and a porticoed square conform the central axis of the public spaces; two- and three-story buildings with spaces for staff work conform four courtyards, arranged in pairs symmetrically to the central axis. The complex of open and closed spaces are inscribed in a rectangular building, interrupted only by the open court in front of the entrance. The emerging volume of the basilica is the unmistakable sign of the architectural identity and urban recognizability of this building.
